I've seen some solid discs on minis get mega thin before but I've never known anyone to go that far. |

Hell, I took the whole front clip off a Honda with a Crown Vic. I've seen brakes like that before. What was scary is, they brought it in for an oil change. Had no idea there was anything wrong with the brakes Back in the asbestos-pad days you never had to change rotors. These days they're made of softer iron to compensate for less friction from the pads. Last edited by microgoat; 06-18-2009 at 05:55 PM. |

Back 15 years ago when I worked in a tire/auto repair shop we had a gal pull in and said her brakes felt funny. I pulled it into the shop, about put it through a rack of tires, tossed it on the lift, took 1 tire off and heard parts hitting the floor. The break rotor looked like Diesels and the piston fell out of the caliber. There was no pads left at all. When I walked up front with the HUGE quote to put it back together she freaked. Told us we were trying to rip her off and that she was leaving. She really got bent when we informed her the only way we could legally let it leave the shop was repaired or on a wrecker. Oh, and to top it off......she said it never pulled and she never heard a thing |
