| Any road cycling fans?
Yeah, I feel like I'm coming out of the closet, but I'm a huge fan of road cycling (have been for years). Of course, the only tv fix I'm able to get is when OLN/Versus shows the Tour in July. This is the month my wife gets to be a sports widow ! I do follow cycling year round though. Glad to see Boonen got the green light. Even if he is a cokehead, it'll be good to see him sprinting head to head against Cavendish. So, anyone else want to admit they watch grown men with shaved legs and spandex suits race around Europe on bicycles ? |

Bikes belong on the sidewalk, not in my way on the road. That is all. |

And if you guys think the Tour de France is the only/best bike race on TV, you're missing out. The Spring Classics were on OLN, too - I managed to catch the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix this year.

Unfortunately, OLN in Canada only carries the Tour. I had to follow the spring classics through Velonews, but I couldn't agree more. The one day races, especially on the cobbles, are always exciting.

I road raced for a number of years back in the 80's. Yep, shaved the legs AND that was when helmets were the traditional "hair nets" and not the "brainsuckers (as we called them back then) that all racers wear today. Oh yeah, the shifters were friction (not SIS) and they were actually mounted on the downtube and not at the end of the handlebars!! I don't know about anybody else but I LOVE the look of a classic steel framed bike all decked out in Campy Super Record!!! Thanks for the memories!! |

| Stage 4 of that race ended in my home town and was it a lot of fun. Watching these guys do 45 mph down the stretch after a 100 mile ride was insane. What was cool also, I was working with the city surveillance and saw them coming into town while I stayed at the finish line to watch them there. Can't wait for it to come back next year.
