I would like to see a full head on test and compare. todays cars absorb more of the impact and that is good. but a true head on puts frame against frame or frame against unibody and may yeild a different result. |

Impressive shots and a sad waste but i still don't know if i would believe it, even after seeing it. 50 years of metal fatigue, they even quote to ''road grime'' how many bolts were sheered off in the impact due to rust. I agree that the malibu driver would have still been better off but it looks like the whole thing was well set up to show the results they wanted.

The crazy thing is the "Highway Safety then and now" box below the vid. That's a lot of fatalities for 71.5 million registered vehicles. Cool video, as far as the classic car thing...yes it is a classic but who really wants a 1959 4 door Bel Air with brown interior? If it was a 55 2 door then it would be another story. |
