Default 1/24 slot car drag racing

does anyone drag race slot cars? id ike to get into it but i dont know if theres a track around me. im located in eastern pennsylvania. i might try to make a track, what power source do you use? any info is greatly appreciated. thanx

I have played around with slots over the years, still have my 1/32 scale stuff and some day hope to build a routed track.... IMO no matter what venue you choose, run seperate power to each lane. There are several power supplies out there that can handle the requirements.

A good drag strip should have 15-17 volts, 17 is what the local tracks runs here...

good strong 12 -13.5 v if thats all you can provide...

the local track uses a few very large 6v (connected to make 12v or over ) marine batteries with a large charger connected to them...
