I think Axial is finally going to come out with their 6x6 AX11 crawler: Axial AX11 Scorpion HexRod Hardware - KIT (USB interface) - 5052 brushed aluminum body kit - Fully Illustrated Construction Guide - Parallax Board of Education - Parallax BS2 STAMP Microcontroller - Parallax Servo Controller - Parallax 4 button LCD AppMod - (12) Hitec HS-422 Servos - (4) servo wire extension packs - S2 Sensor Stand Tech Specifications - Ground Clearance: 2.75" (7cm) - Standing 6.25" (15.88cm) - 3.45 pounds with servos and electronics(1.56 kg) - Super strong .063 Gauge 5052 aluminum with type II Axial anodizing for weather and scratch resistance - For more information, please contact marketing@axialracing.com List $465.95 They've been teasing us on this one for almost a year now, and we haven't seen anything! I think AXMA stands for Axial Multi-Arm crawler and they're making a new class, one without tires at all. No need to mess with foams, or stripped wheel hexes, or beadlock screws! Who else forgot about this one? |

Ya, that was their april fools post from last year. The robot does exist though, it's made by another company. Since it's all speculation anyway I think they're coming out with a few products since the ad says "several exciting new products"... I think (hope) they're finally coming out with a competition ready MOA crawler kit (I hope it's a kit, they can offer it in ARTR or RTC form, but I'd like to build it myself.) I'd also hope they're making a factory dig unit for the AX10 and/or a new dig-integrated transmission. They're also probably going to step into the SC world with something to compete against the slash and slayer, and it would make sense to make both an electric and a nitro (since they make nitro engines but nothing to put them in.) If it's independent suspension all around or solid rear, that's fine with me since you could probably use it as a rock racer or an SC. I'd like to see them come out with a mini and a super, but that may be more of a stretch (no pun intended.) Losi has the only 1.9 comp crawler, but if Axial came out with one, it would probably flood the comps. A factory ready super would also help further the class, just as it did with the 2.2s. The fact that they've got Brad, Brandon, and Scott on board hopefully means they've got some awesomeness coming soon. I hate waiting, but I'll probably hold off on buying a bully until we find out what is up with their new products. Also, since the TR Honcho (AX90016) is going to be priced at $299.99 I think we'll see the cost of the Kit Honcho drop a little bit. $25 bucks more for electronics and LED kit (trading out aluminum links for plastic links) doesn't seem like a huge price jump, and I could see a lot of people getting the TR just so they don't have to build it themselves and toss the electronics. Last, what is up with their product numbering? AX90001 - AX10 Scorpion KIT AX90002 - AX10 Scorpion RTR AX90004 - AX10 Scorpion ARTR AX90007 - SCX10 KIT AX90011 - AX10 Scorpion RTC AX90012 - SCX10 TR w/Dingo Body AX90014 - SCX10 KIT w/Trail Honcho Body AX90016 - SCX10 TR w/Trail Honcho Body AX90017 - Amazing Super Secret New Product Where's 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, or 15? Scrapped projects? Last edited by monkeyracer; 02-23-2010 at 07:41 AM. |
