Default Dodge Ram help???

Hopefully someone can give me some (expert?) advice on this... I have a 1999 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 liter, I've had it for almost 4 years, it runs fine, gets the same MPG that it always has... recently it started this thing when I go through the automatic car wash and get to the blow dryer, it cuts out and misses like crazy! :? I took it to my mechanic, who checked for any cracks in the distributor, or bad plug wires by spraying water around them... nothing! I don't think it's an intake gasket leaking, or it would do it all the time. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

Maybe a sensor going bonkers since you aren't moving and its seeing an increase in atmospheric air pressure?

Or just quit being lazy and wash it by hand.

Sounds like a sensor or vacuum leak

Sounds most likely like a faulty MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure). If it only does it when it is getting Blow Dried . Haha, sounds funny.

It could just be the connection to the sensor or the sensor housing could be cracked or damaged.

Just something to check. I am no drivability Tech, but I worked at the local Chrysler Dealer for about 4 years. So I am not a complete idiot.

kinda what I was thinking, I would think it would throw a code though... I'm no Tech either, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express!

This would be my guess too. May want to take a look at the coil pack, I've seen the plates get all rusty and start to split apart and cause some poor running issues.
