Default Excavator climbing a tower

I don't usually post stuff in chit chat, but a co-worker showed me this today and I just had to share. I work for a company that designs, manufactures, and sells hydraulic cylinders and components and this just blows my mind what these hydraulic systems are capable of.

Seems like a totally random thing to do, but cool none the less.

You can skip to 3 min to get to the good stuff.

there are blocks at the top of the tracks holding it in, you can't really see them cause of the angle of the camera

it has two grapple hooks in the front between the tracks thathook and hold it to the tower so he can release and hook the boom to the next level, you can see them around the 5min mark when the camera is undernieth the excavater.

put a stick and boom that is meant for a bigger trackhoe, on a smaller frame with no counterweight and you can do some wild things

this is pretty old, the original point of this video was to show how powerfull the hydrolics on the machine were and that a biiger amm / bucket was capable of being mounted on a smaller base,

very cool!

That is very impressive.

For both the mechanics involved, and that dude's skills as an operator.
