Default concrete conundrum

the floor of our back patio is concrete (used to be a car port) covered in carpet, we want to remove the carpet and use a textured paint on the floor. i was wondering what everyone thought would be the best way to remove the adhesive under the carpet.

i have read several articles online and most of those used boiling water or chemicals. and with the flower beds outside lining the screens i think the hot water methods would be the best what do you think?

have a grinder?? its messy but keep the floor soaking and put a wire wheel on a grinder, the adhesive turns into little glue balls and the water stops it from sticking.. a wire brush also works but is alot more effort..

lol glue balls

but im lazy and just chemical it

chemicals are not much of an option, i would have to use organics, and my aunt is allergic to citrus, so my only option is soy, which is ungodly expensive. we are thinking of trying a steamer. instead of boiling water.
