I read speed limiter removed, and also read 258 mph with it.

Guinness has settled the matter by stating that "a change to the speed limiter does not alter the fundamental design of the car or its engine."

Could go here I suppose...

The world record authority defines "production" as building at least 50 examples and only 29 Venoms are supposed to be built, though Guinness does permit itself to grant exceptions.

As far as how many cars are made i think 29 cars is enough to call it production.

The owner built the car to use and show, not to sit in a garage. Not much he can do when a strom rolls through, he could leave the show drive home in the rain or let his car get a little wet.

No really much of a task for Bugatti to plug in laptop and remove said limiter though.

Besides where are owners likely to have both the bollox and the space to run over 258mph (in both the Elise i mean Venom GT and the Veyron).

It's like having a naked Jessica Alba straddle you and complaining because you can't see the TV

I think you guys are getting confused on the difference between production and mass production based rigs. None of the cars being discussed would be considered mass production, they're all limited run supercars so the argument is pretty much nil anyway. Whether they produce 29 or 2900, it's still being produced by Hennessey Performance. Not that it will ever matter for most of us.
