| Car rental agency suggestions
We're going to be flying to southern California this summer for vacation and will be renting a vehicle while there. Never rented in the US before, so I'm looking for suggestions on what car rental agencies others with more experience in this area would recommend. Would be for an economy class car, my insurance in Canada covers me there, ideally for pick-up and drop-off at the airport (San Diego). Thanks guys! |

Once piece of advice I can offer is to be sure to check on policies covering Reservation Cancellation/Changes/Transfers, especially if there is a "middle man" involved. Some places will give you good rates because you can't change things once you've paid (ie: times, dates, who can pick up/sign for the car, etc).

Pay an extra 5 dollars a day and get a full size car, not a tin can on wheels.

We just rented a Ford Fusion at the San Diego airport through Budget. Best price, but we were doing a multi-city trip so we drove from San Diego to San Francisco for work.

I always use Enterprise, Just always had great service there, tried a few others before and didn't like the way they did things. Used alamo once, the damn thing broke down and it took them 6 hours to get me another car.
