Put a g-force sensor in the plate while you're at it. In the event of an accident it can call up an ad for a personal-injury lawyer.

Or, or, or, how about this: if the g-sensor detects the old backseat action it can bring up ads for the nearest STD clinic. So many possibilities.

so what they are saying is that they want people to drive and stare at licence plates, and that whole amber thing is just going to cause accidents... Oh i hear an ambulance but im to busy staring at this licence plate to pull over and pay attention to traffic.... wow seems like they really thought this through

It said it would be a normal plate while driving. Only after stopping for 4 seconds will it change to an ad.

I foresee hacking into them to display whatever you want it to. Crazy none the less!

Fawk that!! They want to generate more revenue for Cali, since they are so far in debt = Joe drive has to pay more money out of his pocket for a stupid license plate.

I say to hell with that.

Bend over now!
"Supporters say license-plate advertising could generate much-needed revenue in a state facing a $19 billion deficit."

That's a little desperate sounding to me maybe just taxing all those celebrities and high rollers would be a better idea.

It's a government project, can you imagine how fawked up it's going to be? Hell going to the DMV now is like pulling teeth, I can't imagine how bad it will be once these things are approved.

Seems like a good way for Big Brother to track the driving population. If it can receive a signal, it can send one just as easily.

Hey California

really, then

For sure makes me not miss living in California even more..........

Nothing against all you people that live out there, but your government suffers from head up butt disease.

You know, even though they haven't developed these yet, I'm betting that they'll die just as easily as a cell phone that's left in a microwave for 10 seconds on High.

Just sayin'.

What happens if someone should steal your plates?

Knowing Kalifornia, they'll require you to bring your car in to have the plates installed with tamper-proof/tamper-evident device that will change the requirements for license plate attachment for every car sold in the state.

And God forbid some of those adds go against your personal beliefs.

Can you just imagine the local church group sitting at the light w/ a Planned Parenthood commercial playing at the light?

Of coarse these would only be available from the state government at a minute convenience charge.
