My 04' has no lift and 285 Cooper S/T. I tow so I prefer a stock height truck. It does fairly well offroad especially in the snow. The truck does need new diffs though. The stock LS sucks and the front is open. Some day when I get the cash I'd like trutracs front and rear, should go good then.

So let's assume you have kids. How are they to get in? You say you're on 48s so that means that the bottom of the cab is four feet off the ground. That's a helluva first step. Shit, my wife is 5' 4".

now I dont know about hunting goose in missouri but our stock 86 jeep with a/t's will go places on our lease a lifted truck will never see.

and its nice to be young, but when you get as old as some of us. its just to damn much work getting in and out. or your tools,or hooking up a trailer.
big lifted trucks are mostly youngsters that dont even work their trucks.

some of us got to really work our rigs.
This.

If I want to go play I've got a rig for that - and it's a daily driver. (well, when my wife is in country)

A full-size truck just can't hang. Especially a lifted full-size.

dkf,

I used an exterior trim paint made by Dupli-color. I could've bought a new grille, but no need to do so. This one does have a small crack in it, but it's not a big deal. For $6 it looks MUCH better and if the crack bugs me I can repair the grille from the back side and it'll not be noticeable. Heck, I didn't even find the crack until I had removed the grille from the truck and was giving it a good cleaning before masking.

my goose neck only drops so far,a real trailer for real work.
bumper pulls are for light weights

I pull right around 20,000 lbs all summer long.
my gooseneck weighs 5,800 lbs empty.
and as a work truck, even without a trailer, getting tools in/out is much harder in a lifted truck, they look good but their actually not as useful. IMO
I have a 2002 4x4 with very mild 2" lift and its not to bad to work out of.
but still harder than stock to load up.
anymore than that would make it nearly useless to me as a work horse.

and my ford cant get in the tight spots on the lease like the jeep can.

On a side note, with my edge turned to economy I managed 21.5mpg highway this weekend. Not bad for a truck the size of a house.
Were those number calculated on actual miles driven divided by the # of gallons pumped in or by your on board computer which has to be off due to the tire size change? Just curious.

If the computer is off due to change in tire size the odometer will be off as well.

Settled on some components for the front. Replaced the dry factory 6x8s with a Hertz ESK 165 6 1/2 set. Tweeters were mounted in the A-pillar.

They sound good enough for me.

Just need to get the bottom end going.

No, but you never know where you'll find yourself.

And living in a nice area doesn't mean some dipshit won't take advantage of an opportunity just because of where you park.

When possible, I like stacking the odds in my favor.

Back in the day I cut an 8-track tape in half and stuck a cassette in it, to disguise my "high-dollar" tape deck

btw, did you let Baller paint your speakers?
