| Well, it's a recorder so anything I want, really I've got blues, bluegrass, some Dead, Steely Dan and a bunch of Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler stuff. Tapes are getting harder to find; I used to be able to buy a reel down at the corner stereo shop, now it's used ones on eBay. |

$109 worth of records showed up today. All four of them. As if there has been a shift in my interests lately... |

I think I'll have to resort to the free water diet, forever. Good news is, I'll have good looking speakers on my yacht. And, all the water I can eat and drink. |

Million dollar stereo systems? Ok. http://www.higherfi.com/million/ I got my headphones on right now. Seems pretty cheap comparatively speaking. |

Here's a great deal on Amazon for Beyer's 990. http://www.amazon.com/beyerdynamic-9.../dp/B000F2BLTW You can get the 32 or 600 ohm version also. |

I can try, but what's your budget? Solid State or Tubed? Oh, and to pair up with what headphone? Last edited by EeePee; 11-17-2010 at 06:07 PM. |

I alllmost dropped $1900 on a Woo 22 the other night. However, I'm very seriously considering a PS Audio GCHP to get me by for a little while. Was $1000, then discontinued and down to $499, but found a mint new unused open box for $399. Pair that up with the PS Audio GCPH (phono preamp) for $1000 and I'd be quite happy for a while I'm sure, and finally listening to records again. Run them in balanced with XLR cables, and when I can, get that balanced Woo 22 and party time it would be. I think that might be the plan. |

| Alright, I read up on those for a minute, and didn't really find much about what they sound like. Nonetheless, there are amps that cost around twenty dollars that "work", and amps at every price point thereafter all the way up to multiple thousands of dollars. http://www.amazon.com/FiiO-E5-Headph.../dp/B001P9EQH8 Read the reviews. Very important in audio selection. Or here: http://www.headphone.com/headphone-amps/amplifiers.php Or, how about a bit more money? http://www.wooaudio.com/products/wa3.html There's many between $20 and $500. And there are a lot of DIY plans out there. |

No sweat. There's MANY options out there. If you've got any questions, feel free to ask. I don't know everything, but I've learned a lot.

ok so i am about to commit multiple infractions but i need an answer and this is the best thread. I am sitting at the airport with no headphones and i am going outta my mind. (i lost my sennheiser earbuds when we moved) There is a best buy express kiosk here with the Bose IE2 earbuds. anyone know anything about them? I'm not an extreme audiophile but i am analytical by nature and i want smooth crisp sound. Are they worth the money? |

If you buy anything from Bose, you're getting multiple infractions.

I have a low end setup for my computer. I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770/80 Pro powered by a Little Dot 1+ with NOS Sylvania GB-408A tubes running through a Keces DA-151 D/A converter. Not much compared to many but I really like it. I would like to expand my headphone horizons but I am limited by too little money and too many hobbies.

Nice. How you liking those 770s? Ever roll tubes? May not be much, but I'd say that it's more than many will ever know. |
