| 30+lb snap'n turtle in my crawl spot today
Went out for some crawling today to test out my widened Bully tubes and ran across this huge a$$ snap'n turtle. This things head was right near my shoe getting some air while I was next to the water pullin' a tough line. The shell on the thing was a big as my 11yr old girls torso and it's feet were as big as her hands. I tried to get a good picture of the tail, it has cool spikes on it like a dinosaur. Not that you can tell much from the reference, but my shoe is an 11 and the turtle is about 6' away. What other crazy stuff have you seen while out crawlin'? |

Damn you got a small foot. Im 13 and wear a 12. No shit about the wildlife I tell you. I was at my normal scaling area in the woods at my farm and i ended up breaking a log and inside it was a Rattle Snake. Then I was rearranging some rocks on my comp course, and my finger got about 8th of an inch away from a black widow. |

One of my favorite spots has a decent number of Ducks that hang out there, luckily they all seem pretty cool with me running my SCX10 there, I do tend to let them be as well. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...allenge%20Dam/ |

we used to catch those sucks in the creek buy my mom's house. ONe time I reached in going for a tail and it was the head side. Lucky day for Saydee. After dragging them out we would take big ticks as try to get them to snap. there quicker than you would think.

when i was a kid we were walking to a fishing hole i stepped over a log and one about that size clamped down on my pant leg fortunatly for me my jeans were kinda baggy so all he got was a mouth full of jeans and no meat , had to cut my jeans out from around his mouth cause he wasn't letting go

When I was 16 I hit a snapper in the road w/ my car, I bet it weighed well over 100lbs, it was the biggest snapper I have ever seen period, in zoo's and all,, I see em a lot but never that big. I bet it was 60+yrs old, I felt really bad about it, but there was nothing I could do to miss it, I was also glad I didn't wreck my car. | |

That's fantastic, certainly makes the day more interesting. Not sure i'd want to get too close though, it looks bloody huge Not come across anything crawling yet as i'm still a noob, but i did come across this pair when out mountain biking. Is it ok posting Tortoise porn on this forum? Oddly enough i came across this little fella about a year later very close to the same spot. Kinda feel like the little fellas uncle now Cheers Mark |
