I was able to change a few things on my ride this week and really woke it up from a dig plus improved shift quality and hopefully keep the trans alive a little longer. I ordered a 3400 stall converter from Circle D converters out of Texas.Chris down there was a very nice guy to deal with and with me working at a trans shop cut us a really good deal. After the install I am very happy with his product so far. I had planed on only sliding the trans back and swapping converters but the owner of the shop I work at wanted me to put it on the bench so he could look at a few this so he said.It was a pretty good trick Lol..... The owner/builder is a really nice guy and had ordered several parts for my trans and just let me have the stuff the only thing was I had to tare it down and build it.I know enough to do it but I am not real comfortable building yet.But I said what the hell and riped into it.I knew if I run into a issue he would bail me out. So we put a new shell,Z-pack,billet apply pistons, drum, very wide band, input drum support, billet 2/4 servo setup, and a few other things in the trans and put it all back up in the little SUV. Man did the stall help the truck pull from a dig and the trans shifts like a dream.Under WOT it shifts very firm and holds great and has very positive shift under part throttle. The converter is tight enough that you can drive around town and hardly even know its there and it flashes 3400 when you want it to. I am very pleased with this setup. Next I am going to throw a little nitrous kit on it to hold me over to the first of the year until I can do heads, cam, and hopefully a D-1SC |
