Default 1:1 truck help, installing steps on boxed frame

My brother in law is trying to install some side steps on his dad's Dodge Ram, not sure on specifics but I doubt it matters. They didn't realize it's a fully boxed frame and aren't sure the best way to do it. Does anyone have tips? I've searched online and haven't found much, just that some weld them on or apparently use rivets but I'm not sure if rivets would hold. I don't know much (anything) about trucks and I realize this isn't the perfect forum to ask in but I'm not a member of any truck forums and figured it can't hurt to ask here. I know there's some 1:1 truck guys on here. Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

Most the kits I have seen are mounted to the pinch weld on the underside of the rocker (where the rocker panel meets the floor pan).

Thanks but I guess they figured it out. There's a little half washer that fits into an oval hole in the frame then spins 90º so it will stay in there. They were stumped for awhile and figured it out just as I was typing the first post. Thanks for the help though, Cheers.....
