Funny how they think he is letting the air out of tires, they don't realize he is locking his hubs.

Scary, but I would have got mine out of there also.

Holy Crap! Those people were the most non-responsive, slow acting people I've ever seen resonding to an emergency. WTF! They just stand around laughing and talking like its a television program, and is not actually happening in front of their eyes

Now to the smart guy who ran out, locked-up, and got the hell out of there, we salute you! You are the real deal and not a mind controlled dummy. You chose to act, and for that, you deserve a big

What a great day to have a hood snorkel too !!!!!!!

Those people HAVE to be paper pushers or something. "he let the air out of his tires, so now it just floats" Listen to yourself, you sound stupid. Kudos to buddy who locked the hubs in and prepared for some 'froadin, jumping into that current would have been a little sketchy.

Those Patrols are all over that area. Those in Australia and New Zealand have some of the hottest 4x4's, especially from Nissan.

Coming from someone who is currently being affected by the flooding in Queensland (im in the ipswich area, google ipswich flooding if you want to see what the shit around here is like atm) this is some seriously bad shit.

My Aunt & Uncles house is underwater, im currently cut off from any major city. There are houses underwater not even 5min drive from my house.

The floods are expected to peak between 20.5-22meters in ipswich. That is the same height as the record floods in 1974 that damn near wiped Brisbane and Ipswich off the map.
This shit is a lot worse as there are alot more people and houses within the flood zones now than 37years ago.

To tell you the truth, this has been going on since the 10/1 and there have been 10deaths so far in the lockyer valley, and they were from people trying to brave the flood to save their shit, car whatever.
There are currently 90 people missing due to these flood as well.

You think this guy is a hero for saving his Patrol, he was just lucky.
The reason no one went after their cars is the flash flood came from no where, no warning nothing, and generally we dont bother. Insurance covers it, is it worth loosing you life over a car?
Im a gearhead since birth, but even i would 2nd guess trying to save it.

Yeah, funny till you realise 10 are confirmed dead and 78 folks are missing!.

These floods came out of near 12" of rain in 6 hours in the ranges above Toowoomba. The East Creek rose 5m in two minutes, it probably takes that long to go down the stairs, and no one expected or even knew the water was coming.

FYI, these floods are still rising and are now the worst flooding in 100 years.
The Brisbane River is expected to peak at 5.5m tomorrow (its currently 2kms wide, ~1 1/4 miles wide).

In 1974 Brisbane flooded and the Wivenhoe Dam was built to prevent it happening again. Yesterday the Wivenhoe Dam went from 30% to 100% full in 4 hrs, and is now 4.5m (14ft) over the 100% full line.

BTW Brisbane is a city of 2M ppl, and the entire city is now without power due to high water levels.

Real funny....

Ya got to remember the "Yank" factor here guys, mostly the guys on this site are pretty cool, but like everywhere there is a percentage of DF's, as we've just seen.

Oh man! that's serious, down here in South Florida we have to deal with Hurricanes, with terrible winds and sometimes flooding, you can take cover from the wind, but raging water flow is a whole different story. I'm keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
