Default Thoughts, prayers, and well wishes please.

I just got off the phone with my best man, he moved to NC about a year ago. He called to inform me that he is undergoing surgery at a hospital in Raleigh today to have a cancerous brain tumor removed, and starts a chemo regimen tomorrow if the surgery is successful in removing most of the tumor.

Please send your wishes, prayers, and positive thoughts to Dave in NC for a successful surgery and the strength to win this battle he has ahead of him.

I will video chat with him in a couple days after he is back home.

This hits me very hard. He has been my best friend over 15 years and is one year younger than me.

Be strong Dave my brother!

Thanks everyone. His surgery starts in under an hour. His son will call me when they have more information.

With all of the positive I have had in my life recently, this really brought reality back to the surface for me. I can not wait for the work day to end so I can go home and hold my 3 week old son.

Dave is doing well, the surgery went as well as could be hoped. He will be in the hospital for a bit. The next ct scan will show how much of it they got, then it's up to the chemo and his will to fight. With friends and family I think he will beat this.

Hey Richard, Best wishes for your friend. I know from recent experience (Tylers surgery) that the prayers/best wishes really helped us. Good luck to Daves recovery

That's good to hear he is doing well. Did he ever mention what type of tumor it was? I have been involved in the treatment of MANY GBM (Glioblastoma Multiforme) tumors over the years and they seem to respond well to treatment (usually surgery and radiation). Believe it or not, with as complicated as the brain is, it is one of the easiest areas to treat for a tumor....

Best of luck to your friend and a speedy recovery!
