| True Story (President Calvin Coolidge)
I found this story while reading a Biopsychology book. I thought it was very funny coming from a President of the United States: "During a tour of a poultry farm, Mrs. Coolidge inquired of the farmer how his farm managed to produce so many eggs with such a small number of roosters. The farmer proudly explained that his roosters performed their duty dozens of times each day. "Perhaps you could point that out to Mr. Coolidge" replied the First Lady in a pointedly loud voice. The President overhearing the remark, asked the farmer, "Does each rooster service the same hen each time?" "No" replied the farmer, "there are many hens for each rooster". "Perhaps you could point that out to Mrs. Coolidge," replied the President. Last edited by Oso787; 05-12-2011 at 12:21 PM. |

Funny. When I cover Coolidge in my history class I always tell the story of when he was at a party. One hot young lady bet another that she could get Silent Cal to say more than two words. She approached President Coolidge and told him of the bet. He said, "You lose." and walked off. |
