Theres some serious wrench time in that puppy hard to put a value on that. At a shops rates it can get pretty insane....regardless there is alot of labor value there

I'd also want to see some more current pics before you took the time to go look.

Those are 2 years old...It's nice truck though.

I like it!

707 isn't too far away. j/k

8K is to much, no matter how much wrench time you've got in something it's never gonna come back to ya in "cash" value. But, it does have damn near all the hard work done. Sits a little to high for my tastes but it has had the SAS done and that doesn't help for the low slung suspension characteristics.

You guys call them Tacodas over there right? In Australia the same truck (ute) is called a Hilux and most of them sit at that price. Even a bone stock model from 98 will cost $10 000. Way too over priced. They are reliable, and keep chugging along but for the price that guy is asking you have to remember it is an old vehicle.

Plus, how do you calculate wrench time? Did he do it himself, taking 3 times longer than a mechanic? Did he get ripped off?

I'd personally pass on it. It says it has a spooled rear axle, have you ever driven a spooled rear axle on the street, it really isn't fun. Now mix that in with a short wheelbase and a high center of gravity and you have the recipe for a serious on road disaster.

I'm thinking 5 grand...stock yota axles so its not up for hardcore wheelin, the 4 banger/low gears/huge tires equals slow top speed (55 tops, my 22re in a stock yota on 31's my top is 80 down hill) so not for highway use. So really its for the occasional easy-med goin trails and thats about all.

A locker and a spool are two diffrent things. I DD'ed a rig with a spool for a while. Will NEVER do it again. If your thinking this is gonna be a DD, something is going to have to be done with that spool.

im thinking more along 5-6k. its a nicely built rig but i'd definitely throw a shorter leaf spring under it and cut the fenders if i were to buy it.

x2, even when the g80 locker/ liminted slip diff in my frends exteded cab long bed 1500 chevy locked up after a 4lo run the bucked and had tires barking!

IMO that guy must have his head up his @$$ pretty far if he thinks he is going to get that for it, (or he is waiting for a sucker looking for a built truck and has the $$$$) because there is no way i would pay that for a rig with a 4cyl and such. I can build the rig I want for that. most i would give for that would be high high 4k or low low 5k, only because it is suppose to be flawless for what it is.

Bout 3k is the most I'd give for it.....IF it was in very good shape with little to no body damage.

Most of the "upgrades" he's got listed are cheapie upgrades anyway.

Standard cab kills it. Throw some decent upgrades in it like a doubler, twin sticks, Chromoly shafts, Detroits or ARB's, hydro steering and such..... the price would be a bit easier to swallow.
