I am terrible at keeping plants alive... that being said I started my first garden this year! I have an indoor herb garden (not those herbs...) with basil, cilantro, thyme, chamomile, rosemary, chives, and lavender. they were doing really well until we went to AWCC and were gone for a week-- during which time it was over 100 degrees at home and everything died, but I'm trying to nurse it back to life, some of them are coming back... outside I have a container garden (in whiskey barrels, its very awesome) with 3 tomato plants, Roma, San Diego and Early Girl. there are 3 itty bitty tomatoes on one, I am very excited. I had strawberries, jalapenos, and edamame out there too, but my dog decided that those looked better spread around the yard, and the barrels were really good places to dig. |

total black thumb here when it comes to a small garden (large fields are easy now) so don't plant too much. did manage to get some peas in this year, and they're doing very well even with no watering. most of my sweet corn is stolen off the neighbors that farm them for green giant, and a lot of my peas as well. still trying on my rotodendrin (sp?) bushes too, a couple look pretty tough, think this is their last year, but the rest are thriving.
