I don't think so. There is wiring for 6 injectors.

i see that now, but there are only 5 plug wires that appear to go to block mounted coilpacks like a third gen small block.

If you look at the spacing, #1 would be hidden behind the radiator.

You can put coilpacks on anything as long as you've got an ecm to drive them.

The 302 GMC inline six was produced from 1952 to 1960, when it was replaced by the V6. It has a 4.00" bore and 4.00" stroke. The connecting rod length was 7.000". This is the largest raised-deck engine. It was originally designed for the GMC military M135 and M211. It was used in military 2.5 ton trucks with the HydraMatic transmission; however, the engine was a sealed engine for snorkel/submersion use, had an electric fuel pump, and other features such as a deep sump oil pan. From 1952-1959, GMC manufactured the civilian 302 engine, which was not sealed, had a mechanical fuel pump, and used a "standard" oil pan. This engine is popular with hotrod enthusiasts because it delivers tremendous power for an inline six engine, is truck built with a heavy cast block, and can take quite a bit of abuse.

Somethings fishy for sure. The plug wires at 5, and the exhaust with what apears to be 5 also. From where Im standing everything kinda points toward 5cyl, but maybe theres more thats not visible?

Either way, 5cyl or 6cyl, that old beat up chevy with the pipe out of the fenders and that clean-spicketty-spaness (and turbo) under the hood equals teh sex.

2/3 and 4/5 share exhaust ports out of the head. There's only 4 tubes in the header. Same with the intake.

Apparently I was posting at the same time as some of you. I missed where jeepin clarified things. Ill take his word for it, he was there.

EDIT: after looking again I see the wiring for the injectors, a dead give away. Its amazing what your eyes focus on when youre looking at something that nice. They werent even wire loomed or taped up or anything, bright clean colors.

Interesting engine, I hadn't heard of it before. I've had hands on experience with the 305 V6, which is probably the engine that you refer to as replacing the I-6.
