Default Turning the Disco II into a trail truck

So I finally have my Disco II up and running and I am switching out my tires. I have been looking at the Definity M/T tires from Pep Boys just because I do not have the money for BFG M/T. Wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with these tires. They are made by Cooper for Pep Boys and seem decently priced.

Here is a picture on a Toyota from another site

If Maxxis is available where your get the BigHorns' MT-764.
also go for a bigger tyre. 265/75x16 is the biggest the Disco II would take but then you will have to lift it by 2".
See my Disco lifting it's leg in my avatar.

That was the size I was going to go with. My local rover shop said I could get away with not lifting right away. I have about 5k to 6k in upgrades I want to do but figured I would get a head start on the tires. Already picked up a set of 16" black steelies from them already now I just need to get the tires. I just checked out those Maxxis tires online and they look really nice. I am planning on lifting the rover 3" in the next month or so.

Just wondering why you need M/T's in SoCal?

then get some Nitto trail grapplers, they are super quiet at 70mph, look awesome, and they last a damn good time!

Do you want to do this too.

Maxxis Bighorn MT-764's.
Black straight spoke rims would have looked better.

Some people here use BMW 5 series 15" rims(steelies) that gives more option on the tyres and the 16" tyres are usually cheaper than 16".

Nice Pics.... A little bit of that I have been looking at so many tire lately and I am thinking of going back to the BFG A/T and calling it a day. I really like the look of the M/T but can't justify this to the wife that I need to spend another $100 per tire.

$100 per tyre???
We pay about 3.5 times that in South Africa.
The MT-764's was roughly $280.00 per tyre and much cheaper than the BFG AT's.

Check out the General Grabber AT2s. I put a set on my VW over the summer and haven't found any reason to regret the purchase. The traction is great in all conditions (except serious mud), and the price is definitely right compared to the BFG. I don't have any action pictures right now..

I've heard good things about the Bighorns, but you have to look hard to find them for a reasonable price.
