| New Vacuum Cleaner
My old vacuum died last week, so it was time for a new one. Ended up with a Riccar Vacuum. The attachments hose has more suction than my shop vac. I really didn't think I could find a Made in USA vacuum, but I was wrong. |

Just because I recently bought stock in Riccar does not mean this is SPAM Actually I have no affiliation whatsoever...I was just pleasantly surprised that I could buy an American made appliance these days. The sad part is that I was surprised. |

i still buy crap vacs every year. Where's the good ole bag vacs? Full? Toss the bag, get back to cleaning quick. Bagless vacs? Full? Take the whole damn thing to your shop, dissasemble, blast it with compressed air, breath in the shit you blasted off the "hepa" filter, wash filters with water, let dry 24hrs, use shop vac in house while drying, reassemble, repeat in 3 days. |

Thats why I like our rainbow...full? dump water/dirt, refill with water and you are good no bags or filters to buy Only downside is you have to empty after every use or it turns into a moldy stinking nasty dirt soup |

| The point I'm trying to make isn't about what Vacuum is the best. It's about how there are some companies can still make something here in the US instead of the Far East. Dyson is another victim of Far East manufacturing. Production moves to Malaysia Initially, all Dyson vacuum cleaners and washing machines were made in Malmesbury, Wiltshire. Dyson requested planning permission to expand the factory to increase vacuum cleaner production, but this application failed so, in 2002, the company transferred vacuum cleaner production to Malaysia. As Dyson was the major manufacturing company in Wiltshire outside Swindon, this move aroused some controversy. A year later, washing machine production was also moved to Malaysia.[citation needed] Although nearly 800 manufacturing jobs were lost, Dyson states that the cost savings from transferring production to Malaysia enabled investment in research & development at their Malmesbury head office. |
