| Top speed
So was looking to see how fast my slash could go so I went on to scriptasylum and after figuring my top speed(50mph) I started dinking around and put in 6s lipo and a 5700 kv motor and randomly a 4 in tire, I changed the original spur and pinion to a 19pinion and a 50spur. Does the pic speak the truth?220+ mph?!?!?!? Has anyone on this forum tried? I've seen people sell the mamba max pros and monsters, |

That Slash would become a kite long before you hit 220 mph.

that program assumes perfect traction, no wind resistance etc. You would end up with tires spinning and if you did get traction the body would kite you away.

You also have to account for exploding tires, melted transmissions, seized bearings, and the disruption of the time/space continuum.

Max RPM on the new castle motors is 100k, you're 20k too high already and it would explode. When I did mine on a different truck than yours it showed something like 35mph with the assumption of the uniknown kv motor I had being a 2800kv one (what I was guesstimated told) and it went exactly 34 mph. My neighbor did his, same truck as mine with slightly lower gearing and a 4600kv motor and his is just as fast top speed as mine but slower off the line. But when I did another one of my cars it showed 74 MPH on the calculator but when I strapped the gps to it it only went 35.5 |

I think one of the first obstacles you would have to overcome would be the fact that it would be out of radio range in half a second |

I did that once with pen and paper and got a similar result for a TA05 with 6 cell and brushless. As has been said, it assumes all of the above as well as drivetrain efficiency (NONE are, or if you spun a wheel it would never stop spinning) and the faster you go means there will be lots of friction in the drive train. That is assuming everything held up. Which it wouldn't. What is the app called by the way? |

if the motor didnt gernade it would be putting out 2.7hp at that voltage with a 90 amp draw |

you'd likely hit ludicrous speed, after which you would achieve terminal velocity and go plaid Last edited by thebigJAT; 10-20-2011 at 08:41 AM. |
