On a semi-related note... say you are using that system, bolting around a parking lot at top speed with your iphone plugged into the tx, and you get a phone call... I just see this ending terribly...

Just buy the Flysky Gt-3B and Losikid's hack kit for a great radio. Shoulda made it Android compatible too....and yeah phone call during driving or you drop your controller with phone attached...lol.

You mean those revo diffs may trickle back down into a revo...:ror:

:flipoff:

Like the drive shafts or spined hexes and apple compatible Castle products. Fawker!

fred0000 11-30-2011 04:17 PM

only thing i'm interested in is the motor for my race 1/8 e-truggy

Twiztid Metal 11-30-2011 04:25 PM

Well a large scale onroad car for $1000 in a depression era.... good thinking!

Im sure 6months after its release Craigslist and Ebay are going to be flooded with these. and Court systems overloaded from wives fileing for divorce lol.

You would need a parking lot the size of walmart to have fun with it, hit a bump. spend 200 to fix it..

I can buy 3 RTR vehicales for the price of this... and where is the current market for something like this? I know 1/5 scale OFFROAD is starting to take off but still shakey.

I know i seen maybe 1 story of large scale onroad racing in the past year but not enough to peak my interst.

going to be a failure is my prediction.

I was really looking forward to something KOH style or offroad for sure.

Traxxas.

:lmao:

fred0000 11-30-2011 04:39 PM

release date of dec 30th... retards, why not before christmas and try to make some money.

ScaleFreak93 11-30-2011 04:40 PM

I do think that they will sell but not like traxxas wants...but I do want to see what that rock crawling profile they show on the radio is all about, maybe we find out in the upcoming months :)

dezfan 11-30-2011 04:49 PM

I guess after you drop a $1000.00 on a frigging RTR, you're screwed even further if you're not a iphone phanboi.

that being said, you probably know atleast 10 people with an iPod touch, or iPhone, so this is a non-issue IMO "thumbsup"

You're right, it's a non issue.

EXCEPT for the largest segment of the wireless industry, Android OS users. Not to mention Blackberry OS, Windows OS, etc..

i'm in no way trying to back this thing up, i'm just saying that whether you have an iPhone or not you'll probably be able to program it anyway. "thumbsup"
unfortunatly traxxas thinks they are a big name and so does apple. so they obviosly had to join forces and make proprietary products.

dezfan 11-30-2011 05:03 PM

I despise both companies.:ror:

So that doubles(triples w/ the cost factor) my reason not to own one.

ecoli 11-30-2011 05:08 PM

Well, not my thing, but kind of cool for an out of the box electric to go that fast. Maybe this will finally kill off nitro

I just don't know where you'd run something like that. You need a hell of a lot of space.

riflerockmafia 11-30-2011 05:17 PM

Wait so you need an iphone or itouch to go 100 with it rip off

Figures... one company greasing another.

R/CMaxximus5.0 11-30-2011 05:40 PM

I'm wondering about the compatibility with the current TQ radios, rx's and "linking" and if this may be a new case design they are going with for their radios...

The car is MEH... It will be cool to see the aftermarket bodies for it, but I'm sure they will be pricey!

The radio system is interesting, but I'm not going to buy a iphone just to use it!

the e revo brushless MSRP is $1350, but it retails for $750ish. if the XO-1 retails like the e-revo brushless at 55% of MSRP, that means it will be a little over $600. that's really not too bad for a large scale brushless onroad car that includes 2 5000mah 3s packs.

I could have sworn I saw MSRP at 1900 and street price is 1099, an e-revo with 2 3S5000's would barn near 1k
