I thought I heard somewhere on caliberfourmz.com these are replacing the Dodge Caliber. It looks to be some type of design from Europe. Then again they were concept pictures and photo leaks of it.

Chrysler teases new Alfa-based 2013 Dodge Dart compact

Quote:
The 2013 Dart rides on an Americanized (lengthened and widened) platform adapted from Fiat's well-regarded and high-style European Alfa Romeo Giulietta. What the company is calling its Compact U.S. Wide architecture uses 68% high-strength steel to cut weight.

The nose is kinda mean looking, I like it so far. Hopefully that turbo 4 gives it some balls.

Also hopefully they'll offer a V8 conversion kit like SVT did with the Focus.

IIRC they did. They would sell you damn near everything but the engine, transmission, and rear end.

Yea, it was developed by Jerry Kugal of Kugal Components (they did street rod stuff) for Ford IIRC.

With Alfa Romeo DNA and Dodge's passion for performance at its core, the all-new 2013 Dodge Dart is a thoroughly modern vehicle that's fuel-efficient, beautifully designed and crafted, agile and brings fun back to driving in the segment.

Wasnt the Shelby Daytona suppose to do the same thing?

Chrysler = still trying to polish turds

Tying the Dart name to that thing is simply a market ploy to make you feel a connection to something that shares absolutely nothing with it's namesake.

Lame, lame, lame.

Otherwise, I see potential for a cool looking WRC package. If Chysler wasn't so lame that they didn't do rally......

everything that has a chrysler name plate on it is a POS. As a company they dragged down the quality (and corporate bank account balances) of MB, lets see how long it takes them to drag down a much smaller Italian car company.

I hate to see the Dart name attached to a weak nut front wheel drive 4 banger.

If it's going to be released on the Alfa Romeo Giulietta chassis then I cannot wait, about time we had a proper hot hatch here.

Don't worry, they'll make sure it has no soul before they release it. I think I'd rather have a burning Chevy Volt.

Why do small American cars suck so bad? Is it self sabotage? Are they afraid of out performing their flagship models?
