Hey guys, I am currently trying to get my two crawlers ready for the next SERCRC comp in July. A little while back I was crawling with another member on this site. We were talking about the comps and how much fun they are but the one thing he said he would do next time is to have more battery packs. I am just wondering how many everyone thinks they would have. I also have some questions about the comps like Are you continuously running gate to gate or do you have time to change and charge another pack between runs? On average speaking, how long are the gates and what mAh would you recommend? (on my tlt i have 1800mAh which should be enough for a gate or two but with my clod i am running 1/4 scale servos so I am using a 1100 custom pack for the motors and a 1400 reciever pack for the servos, do you think that will hold up for one gate or two?) thanks, just trying to make sure i will have enough juice to make the best out of my first comp. |

| http://www.badgerracing.com/~rcracer...ad.php?t=26790 Courses are usually about 5mins long. As far as battery packs go more is better. For the comp I'd run the smaller packs you don't need the long runtime. But, remember many will stay after the comp just to crawl the rocks and bash around. I have 16 GP3300 stick battery packs in my tool box. Most people carry like 4 or so. |

There's alot of guys that run under the knuckle batterys (you can't really change them out) and get by just fine, we make every effort to give people the time they need to prepair before there next run. Your tlt should be fine but I would be worried about the clod, if you make a resonably clean run you'll be fine, but if there's an extremely difficult gate (sometimes there is) you might find yourself trying it a number of times and running out of power. If you do run out of juice you'll have to take a touch penalty to put in a new battery which is never fun (had it happen to myself at the last comp). Most courses are 10 gates long, with each gate being within no more than 10 feet of eachother (on average). Depending on the difficulty each course may take as long as 15 minutes to run. We normaly split the competitors into two groups and run two courses symoultaniously. Then determine the Top 10 by the top 5 scores in each group. The top 10 then runs a final course to determine there final placing. Anywho, I'd sudgest you check out the website (sercrc.com) and be sure to read the rules and event guidelines. All of the stuff I've just mentioned is in there so you can see exactly how we run the events before you even come to one. If you have anymore questions feel free to PM Fishy, Myself, Syco133, or Kenny and we'll point you in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing you there! |
