| Got a new ride!
So... On Friday the doc said the arthritis in my left hip and knee (the clutch leg) is far to advanced for my age. I'm 39 and the left side joints are equivalent to a 70 year old who has been battling arthritis since his 40's. As part of my road to a less pain filled life he told me that I needed to trade my Corolla XRS 6 speed manual in for an automatic. I have driven manual since my dad taught me to drive a sand rail at Glamis when I was 5. I scoffed at the doc on Friday, I've been dealing with the pain while driving for years now, I'll continue to... Saturday came along, I spent over 90 mins 1 way in stop and go traffic around Miami, barely able to walk when I got to my destination, so I gave in yesterday and traded back into a car payment... '07 Black Cherry Pearl FJ 2WD I wish it was 4wd, but I would have use for it about once a year, the gas mileage is significantly different, and there were only 2WD models on the lot I knew I could get a good deal at. |

I wasn't aware they made 2wd FJs? Learn something new all the time. |

| Re: Got a new ride! Yeah, yeah... A piece of me died inside to give up manual. Once I get the FJ paid off I plan to do something I have wanted for years though as a toy. t3/4 hybrid turbo in a miata (early body style when they weight nothing) Thanks Mark Quote:
If I ever decide this needs to be come a major wheeling rig I'll rip the whole front and rear out, throw a t-case in the middle and solid axle it. Sounds like a lot of work, but far less than converting the 2wd to 4wd and keeping the IFS. Last edited by DickyT; 07-02-2012 at 03:53 PM.

Looks good, I also wasn't aware the FJ was available as 2wd. The Auto LSD works great as well in their trucks, I have one in my work truck (2010 Tacoma 4x4).

It's coming Bill I am debating yellow sticker vs paint mask. The paint mask would look great, but they are kind of a hot commodity, and I go through them too fast. Or I'm waiting for Juan to get a vinyl cutter, so he can make me 24" ugc logos in flat black vinyl that I can put on the doors or rear quarter panels. I'm headed that way. Later than sooner since I have given up driving manual daily...

My thoughts are with you as the body doesn't cooperate with the will. Just keep being young at heart and drive that FJ into the ground A vinyl cutter would be pretty cool to have. |
