New bars and/or new gooseneck. A cheap and temporary solution is to cut up a soda can into a small sheet and wrap the bar with it, then clamp down the gooseneck. It'll last for a while.

Im no expert here, but...First make sure the mounts are clean and are free of any adhesive or anything like it. If not, clean it all and clamp her down tight. If its all clean under there, replace the bars and goose neck. They get like that from people not tightening the gooseneck down tight enough and the "ribs" on the gooseneck or handlebars get stripped out and no longer clamp tight enough to hold the bars still. Ive used a piece of innertube cut up for that type of fix Duuuuuuude is talking about. But the can may work better. |

Arc welder will do it. Pop can fix is bogus, he's trying to make you hurt yourself. |

As a kid we used to place two small lock washers under the bars then clamp on the goose neck. Seemed to work and a cheap fix.

Most BMX bikes I work on at the shop that have this problem are either a result of stripped bolts, debris or paint inside the clamp of the stem that causes the slipping, or improper tightening or installation. Check the stem and handlebars for problems...if anything is stripped out or damaged in any way, do yourself a favor and just replace the parts. It's a lot better than taking a chance on seriously hurting yourself due to a half-assed fix.

Take a cutting disc in a Dremel tool and cut all new slots on the outer surface of your bars where they set inside the gooseneck. About 1/8" apart from each other all the way around. Then use the sharp edge of a small bastard file and do your best to file similar grooves all around the inside diameter of your gooseneck. Re-assemble and tighten..... I promise it will be better and stronger then the day you got it new. |

Make sure if you weld/jb it, that you have them exactly where they are most comfortable. Would suck to be to far forward or back and have it permanent. If your stem and bars are painted, get that paint off too, that wont help them grip at all.
