HTC ONE V ~ SDcard memory help?

i recently got myself a HTC cellphone and i have to say... WOW! awesome phone +1

but i need some help using the storage card (SD)
i cant seem to find anywhere to format this card anywhere, and it isnt seeing it for some reason?

and how do i get it so when i take pics it goes directly to the SDcard?

Behold the miracle of the internet!

Before formatting your memory card, you need to unmount it from the ONE V. Tap Apps > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card. To then format the memory card, tap Format SD card.

Warning: The formatting process deletes all data on the memory card.

Before removing your memory card, unmount it by tapping Apps > Settings > Storage > Unmount SD card. To then remove the memory card, tap your microSD card and remove it.

see thats the thing....
i have the online manual (phone doesnt come with one) and ive got to the APPS menu and see the "Storage card" options but...
the TOTAL SPACE & AVAILABLE show UNAVAILABLE. then the make more space/mount storage card/erase storage card/storage card encryption, all show up as light grey and cant be accessed??
