Default Line of Sight

This looks bad ass!

Get the DVD at: Lucas Brunelle Productions - Line Of Sight DVD

Line Of Sight is a rare view into underground bicycle messenger racing which has become a global phenomenon. For over a decade Lucas Brunelle has been riding with the fastest, most skilled urban cyclists around the world while capturing all the action with his customized helmet cameras to bring you along for the ride.

This is bike riding like you've never seen before, in gripping first-person perspective through the most hectic city streets, on expressways in Mexico City, over the frozen Charles River, under the Mediterranean Sea, across the Great Wall of China and deep into the jungles of Guatemala.

Directed and Edited by Benny Zenga, Line of Sight is 60 minutes of the best Lucas Brunelle footage, with titles by Futura 2000, plus extras, outtakes, and a 40 page art book featuring photography and spoke cards from a decade of Alleycat races around the world.

"Lucas Brunelle goes for it. If you want to see what it's like to play a live game of 'frogger', on a bike, with only one life, check out Line Of Sight." - Mat Hoffman

Gonna make a post to remember to watch this later.

Having been a messenger for six years I'm interested to see.

Some of these guys are entirely too confident that the drivers won't run them down...

Had to listen to several full versions of Dueling Banjos, and watch Katee ride her bike 3 times. 30 minutes of bliss just past right by.

THANKS GENTLEMEN!!!

Alleycat racing makes for some good video footage, but that's often the case with anything wreckless and illegal No wonder messengers are mostly younger guys. Even if you survive, your knees eventually give out from riding a fixie all day

Sweet, my reminder worked. I'll be watching the whole thing soon.

More impressive than anything are the guys who ride fixed gear bikes with no brakes, I saw a couple guys skidding to slow. I ventured down that road towards the end of my stay, and only almost got hit once in the whole year or so. I knew about a handful that got blasted by cars, but you'll have that if you're not always alert, or capable enough. More of the latter, me thinks.

It's not so much a confidence that you're not going to get hit by car, it's more like, YOU KNOW that you will not allow that to happen. You are on the offensive, the most alert you can be, eye scanning everything constantly. Playing things out in your head in the near future. You'll see people cut up into traffic, that's the move you make so you don't get blasted. You can't free wheel, and can't bunny hop any time you want, so you gotta dodge.

Fun stuff. Miss it greatly.

Thanks for the link, JH.

one day on my way to work, I was stuck in bad traffic... just creeping along.
This biker goes flying by yelling at people to get out of their cages, that we are slaves to the oil companies and other biker slogans.

Well, when I finally got up to the 6 corners traffic lights, he'd been run down by a Jeep Wrangler.

and I was feeling pretty safe in my cage.

Exactly correct! That was the main reason I accepted another job offer, which I'm currently still at, twelve and half years later.

And

Good movie so far, not as good as some old footage I've seen of some New Yorkers. Actually, it's probably the same stuff, just ~10 year prior. Riding bikes, downtown NY traffic. Can't be any different...

The narrator said New York is the easiest to ride through because it has a flow. That's a very good addendum to my previous post as to why you have confidence in and against traffic. You can see the flow, and can weave through it.

Time for Tokyo.

Here it is! Around 22 minutes in. The video he made in 2003, with Welcome To The Jungle playing. Figures.
