What would you call it if it was outside? A thermometer I guess? I always to the two confused.

Yeah...I lived on the leeward side for almost 3 years. Weather IS nice but it IS humid as hell. Nothin like a nice 85 degree day in November..until it jumps to 90 & starts raining. But it's Hawaii...just grab yer sponge & paddle out into some Sandys shore pound. You don't notice the weather at all while playin in that fish aquarium they call an ocean.

I don't mind the humidity here.

At least it's not like Georgia. Get up in the morning and watch the temp and humidity race each other to triple digits.

No shit! The two combined suck. Nothing like waking @ 5am and walking into a fawking sauna knowing it's the best it's gonna be all day

Any horseflies or fire ants in Hawaii?

No.

No snakes, either.

Tell em about the termites.

There's no snakes because the millions of mongoose ate em all.

Lotsa roosters tho. Chicken fightings quite popular amongst the locals.

& yeah...the humidity on the islands was NOT hard to get used to.

A thermostat measures the temperature & controls something, like the heat or AC, to try & maintain a set temperature.
A thermometer measures the temperature. It can be inside or outside.

I've been in AZ, NM & CO in mid summer where it's in the 100's, but the humidity is low so it's not too bad.
Worst was PHX during a "record heat wave" mid summer.....95*F at 0600 , then onto ~115*F mid afternoon.
High humidity sucks along with the heat.
I try to avoid the Gulf & Atlantic coasts when it's hot out.

Bullshit. Its still bad, just in a different way.

BTW: 115* is not unusual for PHX. My first year there it hit 123*.

115*F in PHX, AZ, NM, CO is waaaayyyyy better than 100*F when the humidity is up.
At least, it is to me.
I will take hot & dry over a little cooler but humid.

Ideal would be 9 months of ~75*F, low humidity and then 3 months of cold & dry so I can go ski.

Now that I'm back in the midwest, I really don't mind the couple of months of high heat and high humidity as opposed to the 5-6 months of hot dry Arizona weather. Our a/c ran from Feb to Oct.

This is also why tanning salons are popular in the hot area's of the country........it's too hot to be outside to tan.

I still stand that ~9 months of ~75*F and decent humidity, then 3 months of cold so I can ski locally.

PS, as to 102* in October, we were cold & had 8" of wet snow about a year ago......frikking snow was on trees with leaves and caused a huge mess in the NE. We were without power for 5 (?) days......
