Dad and used one of their curved sticky mounts to try and mount my 5mp wide angle GoPro to a hard hat for work use...........sadly, that didn't work like we hoped for his purposes.

What kind of helmet are you talking about? I don't know what a tough mudder is. I use the strap mount above on my mountain bike helmet. I run the straps through the vents.

Mud, sand and rain, 60 +mph on the raptor, been mounted and never budged a bit for over 3 years of hardcore usage. Key is to make sure that the helmet is cleaned real good before mounting.

That looks like fun! I'd use the strap, seems like less to worry about than suction cup

I wouldn't trust the suction cup. I use the stick on mount, I think it is 3m unobitaniumhellastickyasschit.

Curved helmet mount works great. As said before, make sure the surface is clean before you put it on.And make sure that if you have a visor that the mount is far enough away that you can mount/take-off the camera.
I watched my son hit a low branch with the camera at about 35mph.Just about yanked him off the bike.He also wrecked pretty bad and it snapped the camera mount in half. The mount to the helmet stayed attached.
Chest mount really doesn't work too good when you are standing up then sitting down on a dirt bike or atv.The angle keeps changing.Might work good for what you are doing though.

Yup, I've broken the clear plastic case before having the sticky mount come off on my E-Revo......and I even hit a Chevy truck chassis so hard to folded the camera back and pointed it up
