You need to know if you want IDE or SATA. Look for at least a 7200rpm drive. If you only have IDE look for IDE ATA100. If you have SATA you want a SATA150. If you don't have any open IDE or SATA ports Get one that has IDE ATA 133 and comes with a ATA controller card or a SATA150 that comes with a SATA Card. |

From your link: FEATURES- Barracuda 7200.7 Plus Hard Drive- 300GB, Internal Ultra ATA/100, 7200 RPM, 8.5 ms Hard Drive. . . . . -- SPECIFICATIONs -------------------------------------- INTERFACE - Ultra ATA/100 (40-pin, 80 conductor cable) In your case, you may just want to stick with an external HD, just plug and play (well almost). Id rather see you do that then open up your pc and fry every thing because you had no clue about what to do. Or just take it to a compusa and have them put one in for you. |

You SHOULD be able to. Just make sure that those cases aren't specific to any type of hard drive. Make sure the case is for an ULTRA ATA 100 hard drive. I think that's all you have to worry about. Also make sure you're running Windows XP. Older operating systems don't recognize anything bigger than something like 80 GB. I had to install a card in my Windows 2000 box to get my 250 GB drive to work. |
