| A blast from the past
I was just randomly serching for skating video's and decided to serch for Christian Hosoi not sure of his spelling , And then THE MAN POP'd IN TO MY HEAD RODNEY F'N MULLEN . I'm not sure if the newer skaters that are here on the forum no who he is but watch and see what this man does with his stick. http://media.putfile.com/Best-Skater-ever-Compilation |

Mullen is the original pimp. Soft spoken, totally cool, and he can do things on a plank that are physically impossible.

nobody does freestyle like that anymore. i just bought my first copy of 'thrasher' magazine in years the other day. saw something about ditch skating on the cover. i looked through it and just about every other page was a pic of some doofus sliding down a handrail. times are changing, and i'm getting old. in my old and not so humble opinion, sliding down a handrail is not skateboarding.

He is bad ***. The last time I saw him skate in person, he was still riding the old school skinny "trick" boards. Damn that was back before the double tail boards and rails, tail and nose guards were cool. In fact I think I still have my first pro board at my moms house. Mark Gator and I had it signed by a bunch of them, Names I can remember off hand: Mullen, Hosoi, Cabballero?. I know there was more I just cant remember the rest. |

yep the skate scene has changed, i remeber huge wheels 10.5 wide boards. i still pull out my old pool board. oh well i will pull out the longboard and hit a couple hills today so i am happy. nothing is better than a 10x46 racing deck with drop thru trucks.

He is the worlds best technical skater ever, no one will ever match him. He is my favorite skate boarder for sure. The best videos to watch him in are the rodney mullen vs daewon sung (<- spelling) round 1 and round 2 Mike |

I've been skating for 7 years since i was 9 (16 now and still never really got good) but when i started the stuff that was being pulled wasn't like when it first started and the cycle will just keep changing on new tricks. | |
