| RCC Couch Surfing Crawlers
Anyone ever heard of couchsurfing.org? It's basically people looking to travel and people willing to host (for free). It's based on a feedback system so it's relatively safe. I was thinking it'd be a really great way to crawl across the country and meet other RCCers. For instance, I live in Chicago and have an extra futon and an extra bed. I'd be willing to put up a couple of people for a few days of crawling (and sight seeing or whatever) every now and then as long as other RCC people vouched for them or I knew them from the bored. This is something I've been thinking about for a while and since someone just mentioned to me the possibility of crashing at their place to do some foffing, I thought it'd be a good time to put it out there. We could set up a feedback section (just like the one we have now) but for couch surfing/hosting only. Any interest? On couchsurfing.org the host really has no responsibility but in this case, we'd go crawling together. And the traveler really has no obligation other than taking care of themselves. I think each trip should be a defined number of days agreed on before hand. Travelers should expect to pay for all their own meals, transportation and such... but that doesn't mean it'd have to be that way. I know we like to cook and would supply dinner at least and a ride to comps/gtg's. Last edited by johnnyh66; 11-27-2012 at 11:49 AM. |

Driving distance... It used to be really cool but now it's overly crowded.

| Re: RCC Couch Surfing Crawlers I'm not a city guy, but I really like Chicago. My girlfriend's Nephew is a lead chef at The Peninsula so we've visited Chicago a few times in the past couple of years. We've never eaten at The Peninsula though...they frown on guys wearing shorts and T-shirts |
