i was contacted by a individual about painting a diecast model for her husband for christmas.

painted..
light green/white top
evidently they do not make the diecast in that color.

can you take them apart??

has anyone painted a diecast model?
did it come out good/decent/great?

thanks!

Anything made in dicast can be taken apart.

The windshield might need rivits drilled out but it's not hard to do

Ive painted a few metal models in my day. Just use regular Testors or a comparible paint. Not really any different than a hardbody.

If he supplies the paint just charge for your time but I would avoid a rattle can unless it's the good stuff.. Anything less and it looks like plastic.

A friend charges $20 per color on a 1/64th scale and only uses house of colors.

One warning though.. Diecast customizing is addictive.
