Default 1:1 rig question...

have any of you guys used or seen one of these in action in an offraod/trail situation?

we got my GF's vehicle situation settled , so now it's my turn to get something for myself. i'm thinking something in the $1500 to $5000 price range, so i can pay it all at once, and have no regrets about bashing a truck i'm making payments on through the woods.....

I wouldn't........... I fitted 31's on my brothers for the offroad look. He drove it on the street. 4wd only in snowy conditions. He blew the front auto hubs about twice a winter.

i wouldn't. go for the cherokee. find one that runs with low miles 120k or less and has been serviced frequently. should cost around 2-3k. that leaves about 1,500 for mods. depending on what your doing you proble wana run 33s. so go with a 5 lift, you don't need a long arm kit, and will save you a bunch. then re gear your axles to 4.10s or 4.88s and get a locker for the rear and you'll be good to go. optional mods that are handy and snorkle and hood vents. check out this site for any help you could need on picking a vehicles www.reno4x4.com its the largest group in northern nevada with members all across the country, they are friendly and helpful and wouln't make fun of you for having a weine rig.

eh, wtf, for 1700 can't beat it. first time your auto hubs blow out, get a manual hub kit for it and you're golden. I paid 2k for a 92 exploder that had bad auto hubs on it, slapped manuals on it and haven't had a problem since.
