Arrow No more non-vendor feeler threads

RCC will no longer allow anyone without a vendor star to create "feeler" threads to gauge interest on the product you are thinking about selling.

We raised the vendor star price to $100 because we want quality vendors on RCC to help grow this RC Crawling community, and not every kid with a dremel that has never even seen a $100 bill yet.

Feeler threads will be deleted without notice. If you continue to create them you will be warned, then banned, not necessarily in that order.

Thanks.

I understand the importance of testing markets, but I feel that if you are genuinly interested in selling a product $100 is a heck of a deal for market research.

Exactly. Consider the amount of traffic and free advertising you get by pimping your products for free without a vendor star.

Another thought is to add a forum in the vendors area for just for market research. That way they could all be put in the same area, and left up for a week or so then deleted.

We allow our Vendors to do that where ever they see fit. We no longer allow that for non-vendor anywhere, except for on ClodTalk.com, I allow it over there.

At least Dez's link led to something educational...

Create a market research forum, and before you know it, we'll have a forum full of porn links to try to figure out if guys like looking at naked chicks....

I think the best "market research" tool this website has is the search feature. If you've got an idea - use search to see if anyone is interested (use your own marketing terms). If it comes up empty - STFU and develop your other ideas... Or buy a vendor star and we'll be seing your name on the top of the leader board next year at the nationals !

Otherwise....you're pimping a $2 crack whore without paying the dues...If you have a $1,000,000 idea - you'll have $900,898 in your pocket.

SEARCH....then SEARCH AGAIN.....if it looks like people want it, buy the star and do it right.......if it's that great - you'll pay for your star in the first 15 minutes and then

If you don't want to play by the rules- at least take a bit of advice -

Starting a post "Would you buy (fill in the blank) if I just happened to know someone who could make them" won't fool anyone in Newbie General. If you want to do covert market research - stop wearing hunter safety orange and invent something to prevent Clod stall

Why would any smart person invest 100 dollars without KNOWING he had a product? That doesn't seem smart. I'm not 12, I work for the military full time, I make a very respectable income, but I'm not going to dump 100 bucks if I'm "UNSURE" if I can design something worth selling. I'm ALREADY losing out on money because it cost money to make the chassises, now you want me to lose more money to get feed back from the few who might read my thread? Does that seem right? Honestly.. From a business view point, does that make sense?

Think about it, would YOU waste 100 bucks if you failed to come to a sellable product?

Cough*bull#$%&*cough

I'm agreeing with paulezk, not just because I'm testing his product, but because he has a good point.

I understand you, badger, about getting these kids that think its simple and can be done with a hacksaw, but when you get a person like paulezk, he's very interested and determined to make a nice chassis, I think its a little unfair.

Makes perfect sense, all part of doing business.
YES!! Someone that agrees with what I've been arguing with badger about for the past half hour. Thats EXACTLY what I was telling him. But he got all over me about recieving this chassis because the sender doesn't have a star.

I'm sitting here thinking to myself, I'm not going to change your mind, so it's pointless even trying. It's your site. I'll just follow your rules. As long as I'll be able to post my new builds, I'll be happy.
I'll be even happier if this new chassis works and I'll be able to get my star then.
