We're 10 months and 8 days in. 30,800 out of a proper 36,500. So obviously the new goal is to keep pushing along until August 5.

I've missed around 10 days, only weekend days, just cause I didn't feel like it. I also have my nights where I just feel like cranking out some more. I would guess my average despite slacking off a little to more like 70-80 per day still has me close to 100 per day.

I had to slack. I have a broken shoulder that I never had repaired and it's problematic. From my left shoulder blade, over my shoulder, down to my inner elbow, to my left hand pointer finger tingled for three months. I couldn't take it anymore. Just the other day a loud crack popped from the center of both shoulder blades. My left shoulder hurts again. My job has me using my arms a very lot, so I hurt. But I also push!

Doesn't matter how, just do it. 10 now, 20 later, 10 again, 70 later.

Doesn't matter.

Let's do it, starting tomorrow, August 5th, 2013.

I love that this happened one year ago.

Not sure yet, other than I need a large change. Still doing push ups, though.

I'm late to the party but I think I'll start this today. I need some kind of a kick in the ass to get started working out again.

And there it is. 100 today for the 1 year anniversary.

I kinda coasted a little towards the end doing 60-80. But I haven't hurt myself for a couple months so no shame in that.

I started yesterday and will continue today. I thought maybe I would be sore but my work is very physical so I guess its just another day.

I finally started this back up... 100 for 100 starting today. I barely knocked out 10 sets of 10, I embarrassed!

I know this is old, but I'm digging it back up because I remembered it from a long time ago and it motivated me reading it, and I just started it myself. I've lost over 60lbs (6'2" went from 237lbs, and I'm now 175lbs) now through changes I've made and getting back into cycling, and have low body fat for the first time in years. The shoulder I had put back together in '09 has also been letting me know I need some strength training in my regimen as well. So I made a half hearted attempt at this one last week, and I do mean half hearted. This week, I've done better, and made the full 100 today for the first time. I spread them out through the day, and I was pretty good till about number 75, and 87-100 really sucked. But, I'm going to try and stick with it, and see what I get out of it. I've been on a kick lately for starting new routines in my life, as I'm in the mood for change. I guess technically at 42, this is my mid life crisis time. Maybe I should buy a Vette?

100 push ups a day is actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it after a week. the whole ARMY does it 5 days out of the week.. well should be.

Warmup is extremely important before you start concentrated excercise like pushups. My right bicep still reminds me of my mistake s from several years ago. I exercise every morning without fail, but one thing I always do before exercise is stretching then warmup.

At 22 , everything was easy for me. Now at 32, I notice a difference. I have started getting an idea what old age might be like.

I always do some stretching / yoga stuff beforehand. Helps loosen me up in the morning after being still all night, especially my lower back which is something I struggle with.

Day 3, yesterday was rough at about the 77ish mark. Yesterday at this time, I had 60 knocked out. I'm at 30 today, and my body is letting me know every year of my 42 years, and any and every injury my upper body has ever had. As CM stated above though, after a week or so, it'll become normal, and my body will get used to it. I had already planned to take weekends off, just too easy to get sidetracked with all that goes on then, and gives my body a chance to recover. I WILL make that 100 today though!

Took the weekend off as I said I would. Went hiking on Saturday, and mountain biking on Sunday. Yesterday and today were easier, hammered my whole 100 in sets, in fairly quick succession. The last 20 or so were pretty tough, but they're supposed to be.

What became more difficult than the actual push up was breathing and counting at the same time.

Try counting out loud, military style: one, two, three, one; one, two, three, two; one, two, three, three; etc, by the time you hit 50, you're done. You have to breathe when you talk.

Every number is 2 pushups
