My kids start school tomorrow

Crazy my kids are already starting school tomorrow. One in 9th and one in 6th. I have lived in the same town for 38 Years and school had always started the Tuesday after labor day weekend. This is gonna have my schedule all messed up!

Any one else have kids or starting school tomorrow?

Mine started last week. We always started on the same Tuesday. I remember the Monday being complete torture, only thing on TV was Jerry Lewis begging, and knowing it was time to get back to school. My kid gets 3 weeks a Christmas, 2 weeks for spring break, and 3 weeks at Thanksgiving. PLUS, half day every Wednesday. But short summers are the price.

We always started before Labor Day here, but not this soon, I think the local kids have an other week or so before school starts again. Not sure if they still do, but family of mine in Iowa didn't have to start until after Labor Day, and I think they were out for the year by Memorial Day too.

Mine all start tomorrow 1st 3rd and 6th.

They got out the second week of June

My kid have pretty weird back to school schedule in our hometown. They don't go back until Tuesday after Labor Day weekend and then have Thursday and Friday off because of the county fair. Looks like it been set up that way for years.

Here in KY a couple of school started up the last week in July. As of this morning pretty much everyone is back..... Crazy, seems everyone is getting closing to year round schooling.

Mine go back here in western Pa, on the 27th. Why a Tuesday, I have no idea.
but have friends with kids in other schools an some have started already. Guess it's up to each district.

My kids have been in school for weeks already and start a break tomorrow.

I tried to reply last night but it didn't go through.

My gf and I are teachers. She starts her new job next Tuesday and I start late September.

Most districts are starting early so they can test earlier in the year and get their results sooner. It's dumb because when they get results earlier, they still have to start earlier the next year.

Lola started 2nd grade today, Juli starts 10th grade nextweek, and Ryland starts pre-preschool in about a month.

There is a quote -- 'I was born intelligent, but education ruined me'

I have been through this long schooling time and I do not feel less time or more time will be the solution to this problem. The answer is how much that student is able to learn and APPLY it in real life. How can that student generate returns with that schooling education in real life.


The world which is controlled by secret banks and monetary system needs work horses to help continue their unknown money making system.They do not need people that think for themselves, but they need people who will be timid and who won`t revolt against them.

Why don`t all the graduates that pass out turn into millionaires?

I am a teacher and I do not support a longer school day or longer school year........as long as ALL parents step up and teach their kids to follow through with their assignments, studying, and being a responsible/respectable citizen.
