| Why do people...........
Why do people always say "shipping to lower 48 only"? Don't they know that Hawaii & Alaska are a part of the USA? USPS is the same no matter where you live in AMERICA. First class, priority, express, it's all the same. They charge by weight not distance. So why do you say it? |

It's a penalty for living in Hawaii. You get the great weather, all the hot wimmin, and all the good waves. We get deals on items that nobody wants to ship to you. Doesn't seem fair to me either. |

Aw, man. It just seems funny. I was looking in the FS forum & it seems everyone says that now. It costs me the same to ship to LA as it does to NYC. Big difference in milage. I think they just don't know. That's why I posted this. |

here is your answer... usps sucks.... (personal preferance) I ship everything through the UPS store (get a discount) the 48 states is cheaper.. and anything larger than a shoe box is cheaper to ship UPS. The USPS is open 8-5... UPS 9-6:30...i work 8-5... it is easier for me to ship UPS.. to ship to HA and AK is ridiculiously more expensive through UPS... ups's tracking is more up to date...usps only updates at the end of the day... (useless)... Thats why.... ups is more convieniant (for me anyway) Last edited by TwistedXT; 10-09-2006 at 08:33 PM. |

Shipping to Alaska has always been on the steep side. the reason for this is UPS and other shippers use trucks to haul alot of the stuff around and here they can not do that they have to fly everything in or out of here. It is not unsual to pay $100 for an item and pay close to $60 in shipping to get it here in 2 days that take better part of a week. Steve |

If you use USPS, and it's a semi-heavy package (something more than 24 oz I think) it costs more to ship to the West Coast than the East Coast. I can't speak for UPS, but anyone who tells you it's the same price shipping USPS on someting heavier than the $4.05 Proirity Mail rate is incorrect. As long as someone pays, I don't care where we ship something to... |

I know my reasons... If one of you candy *** 48 staters riped me off... I'd take a coupls of personal days and track your *** down. It gets more expensive if I have to "drive" to hawaii or Alaska. I uisually say it specifically because I don't want to ship out of the US. If someone knows I ship to Alaska, then why won't i ship to Canada... And if you sent that to Hawaii, why wont you send this to Guam?? Mexico? You get it. |

As far as things being too large or too heavy, most of the FS items & vender products are small & light packages. So that can't be an excuse. I can understand sending a complete rig or whatever. UPS &/or Fed-Ex have ground shipping to all 50 states. I forget if it was one or both. Don't ask me how they have it, they just do. | |

I shipped a 1/6th nylint to a guy in Sweden, and he wanted it in 3-5 days as well. I think his shipping bill alone was $160!!! DTP if you need something some SW2's shipped to you I'll go get them from Brad and you can pay me $1600 shipping and I'll hand deliver them. I may stick around for a week or so too |
