Default Lone Survivor

Don't think I've ever left a theater that was that silent after a movie.
Wife lost it halfway through, the last few mins before the credits were really emotional.

Great movie. Not sure I can watch again though.

It was very good. Very intense however. A movie I feel everyone should see.

I want to see it but dont know if Ill make it to the movies to do so. Might just wait for Redbox or Netflix.

From the reviews Ive read though, it sounds just like you guys describe. Most intense/emotional movie since 'Saving Private Ryan', and I thought that was a pretty damn good flick.

Yeah it was a great movie I went with my wife and 2 of my brothers. One of my brothers is a Army Vet and even he was in tears can't wait to own it.

It was a hard movie to watch. I was choked up through just about the whole movie, just thinking about what was going to happen and when it started to unfold it was just heart wrenching. It was unlike any war movie I'd ever seen. It made me angry and sad, I cringed really bad watching them tumble down the mountain... And when that chinook got hit my stomach just sank through my seat. That's gotta be the worst feeling I've EVER had while watching a movie.

I don't think I can ever watch this movie again. I'm just glad I saw it once. I don't read much but I'm considering buying the book to learn more of the details of Luttrell being found by the Afghan and the time he spent in the village.

Have you read the book?

Typical book/movie thing, book is way better. Was a good movie though.

The movie doesn't carry the same message as the book conveys, which disappointed me.

Lone Survivor True Story vs Movie - Real Marcus Luttrell, Mike Murphy

tells some more of the real story - vs hollywood / "no his heart never stopped"

The audio book is very good and goes more into the story and days in the village.

I read the book, but haven't seen the movie and will wait for DVD release. The book was intense, couldn't put it down.

I'm a 1/3 the way through the book. Need to finish the book so I can see the movie this weekend.

Thus far into the book, the SEAL training has put a new perspective on my personal 'workout'.

I know I couldn't make it through another viewing of this, especially the end tribute. They started showing the family pics and I was done, couldn't keep it together. Definitely one of, if not the most, intense movie I've seen,

Here is another source for more detailed info about what really happened.

Operation Red Wings, Operation Whalers, and the book VICTORY POINT in which they are comprehensively documented / Ed Darack

There is reason to believe that both the book and movie are wrong about how many men ambushed the SEAL team. The above source states that about 8-10 of Ahmad Shah's men ambushed the SEALs.

I thought it was a good movie too. They did a great job of not playing to any political sides. And also taught us that not everyone in Afghanistan is a bad person.

I brought my 10 and 13 year old sons to watch the movie too. I wanted them to see what the Military has to go though just so we can have some freedom in this country. They sat through it pretty good. Some parts my younger one had to look down though.
