You're such an inspiration for the ways
That I'll never ever choose to be
Oh so many ways for me to show you
How the savior has abandoned you
**** your God
Your Lord and your Christ
He did this
Took all you had and
Left you this way
Still you pray, you never stray
Never taste of the fruit
You never thought to question why
It's not like you killed someone
It's not like you drove a hateful spear into his side
Praise the one who left you
Broken down and paralyzed
He did it all for you
He did it all for you
Oh so many many ways for me to show you
How your dogma has abandoned you
Pray to your Christ, to your god
Never taste of the fruit
Never stray, never break
Never---choke on a lie
Even though he's the one who did this to you
You never thought to question why
Not like you killed someone
It's Not like you drove a spiteful spear into his side
Talk to Jesus Christ
As if he knows the reasons why
He did it all for you
Did it all for you
He did it all for you..

Nothing wins a religion debate than lyrics from Maynard.

No one was there to witness the events. End of story. Plus still didn’t get my evidence of a single common ancestor.

I want to believe in god, I really do.

Problem is I'm just so confused as to which one I should believe in

Good point.

There's no other valid or plausible explanation.

So it must be the work of a god, even though there's actually no evidence to suggest it was....

So who created god then?

You double posted, you're nervous, or shaking, you don't know what you're doing, trolls get that way when they can't add anything to the argument, or when they know that someone is on to them. Your life must really suck or you have no future.

Oh, and by the way, it is a chip, and you're entitled to your opinion, however wrong it may be

You still haven't won, you're just looking for an argument.
Agreed. I was raised that same way, kinda wandered off, but as life has gone forward I've experienced several unexplainable events, so more my experience than how I was raised. Go to whatever church you want as long as not hurting anyone else. I prefer to commune in nature where we're one with the Earth and God, than in a building with a bunch of people. We are of the Earth, not above it and hear to use it all up. A popular saying with mountain bikers, when people say that can't ride, gotta go to church, is that we're going to church too....church of the mountain bikers! Come commune with us in the hills, mountains, and zen out on some sweet trails.

No.

If you're so adamant, please prove your theorem that there is no god or 'higher power'.

Second, there is no "abounding" evidence for Creation. Whatever supporting evidence there is comes from cherry picking data that aligns with the hypothesis and ignoring that which doesn't. If you applied that to your real life decisions you'd qualify as delusional.

Third, ever play Clue?

Meh whatever, y'all can have your ancient Aesop's fables written by highly superstitious flat earthers and the rest of us will live and die like nature inteded.
I missed it first time, 'revised edition' book rotflmfao!!!!!!

I love these types of discussions as long as everyone remains calm and doesn't take it personally or claim to have 'won' anything, very interesting to me.

All religions I can think of at the moment have a god (central higher power), Christianity, Buddhism (except Buddhism apparently), native Americans (Great Creator), etcetera, in my opinion these are all the same god, God, Creator, etc. Buddhism and native American religions make the most sense to me, I've studied many of them and know (and discuss with some of them about this), there seems to be consensus that there's a higher power even though it seems that Buddhism doesn't necessarily agree that there is. This discussion reminds me of a very interesting docudrama we watched on Netflix awhile back. Very deep discussion, interesting, loved it! Everyone should be raised to be in tune/touch with the Earth/cosmos and all that is around us, would be a much better place to live.

The burden of proof is on those making the positive claim of the existence of a god.

My position is that I do not accept any of the past or current claims of a god or gods.

I’m disappointed in your misunderstanding of the definition of the word theory in science vs normal parlance as you are usually precise.

Spaceman....lol.
Enjoy and repeat as needed.

Edit: by the way why would the word theory ever be used in a non-scientific manner? After all we are trying to either prove or disprove.

Here ya go, btw I like that show too, but they often assume a little too much.

Personally, I don't care what people believe in. If it makes people feel better believing there's some type if higher power, then thumbs up to them . Whatever floats your boat and I'm not here to try and change your belief....

However, when believers make statements like 'the work of god is evident all around us'.... as a fairly pragmatic and rational person I'm curious about this, cause I don't see any obvious evidence of the work of god. Unless of course I just simply accept the bibles version of events and historical accounts..... and don't question any of the many glaringly obvious holes in the story....

Apart from quoting passages from the bible or people stating their faith in their chosen God, no-one, not a single person in this thread has been able to provide a single shred of indisputable evidence for the existence of one or more Gods....

Happy for people to believe whatever they want, but please, stop suggesting there's a sh*tload of evidence for the existence of a god, when there's in fact none. If there was evidence then there'd be no debate and we wouldn't even be having this discussion, right?

I understand faith. Faith is just dandy. We all have it in some form or another. I have no problem with it, or with people that have it.

What I have a problem with is faith defended with "facts" and "science". If it were factual and provable, you wouldn't need faith, and most that attempt to use science to prop up their beliefs have very little knowledge in how science even works, and try to use it like it was simply an unfounded belief.

I can't speak for all Native American's but from what I have learned, the Great Spirit/Great Creator/Wakan Tanka/Ometeotl is not a god personified as in Christianity.

It's more Sum of All Things, Creation Energy, The Universe, Shared Consciousness... which we are all a part of. Which in my mind is one of the main differences between indigenous beliefs and the Abrahamic religions...

Abrahamic religions teach us the human is separate from God and you must worship to gain favor of God or be punished.

Indigenous beliefs teach us God is within us, within all things, we are One and all things should be treated with the same respect.
