Re: Pics of your latest purchase

Now that I have several boats in my collection (including two for NAMBA racing), I decided it was time to try my hand at building...but, not wanting to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars, and potentially screw up, I decided it might be best to start small.

Thanks to Hydro & Marine (Germany), I am now the proud owner of a 17" long piece of fiberglass & resin, known as a Drifter Micro, which is a stepped catamaran hull.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...4e469f4217.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...68002e1196.jpg
My plan is to build this as a twin.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...7c799d15c3.jpg
For those reading this who aren't into RC boats, that means two motors, two ESCs, two props, etc. Before the hull arrived, I purchased (mostly from Steve, at Offshore Electrics) the majority of what else will be needed...just waiting for the parts to arrive. While I won't be "following the manual", I would like, at minimum, to have been able to at least read it. Unfortunately, it's entirely in German. Anyone good at transcribing greens into English? J/K...I plan on scanning, saving as a PDF, and using Google Translate.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...cd0c27ac7e.jpg

Nice desk/work bench!"thumbsup" I like the side storage compartments!

I'm trying to figure out what that flat plate is on the front edge of the desk that sticks up above the top???

Thanks Brian! That flat part is a little lip because the desk can tilt up at an angle (more for people that use it for art) so brushes or whatever be rested on that lip without falling off when it’s tilted. "thumbsup"

It mean "O yeah going fast" or just yes going fast.

My German are also very rusty as i picked up the language when i was 10 or so, good enough that when i got it in school then there was no challenge, i got bored, and kicked out of class or to the principals office.

But thru the 90 ties where i was doing a lot of fishing i met a lot of Germans who come up here to Denmark in great numbers to wet a hook or two.
Still dont like talking to a German as i dont feel as comfortable with the language as i do English, which i also picked up around the same time. ( mid 70ties )

At least the advent of the internet mean that i also learned to write English, though i am sure i still rape the grammar badly, but it is what it is, and i think i am good enough for people to understand.

Just my little Ruger SR9c. Been carrying it in rotation for years.

Untold bajillions of rounded through it. 👍🏼

My son lost the 2mm MIP driver from my work bench yet again so I bought a whole new set of fancy ass drivers.

They are extremely lightweight so you get this strange sensation of using a wrench but it feels like you are holding nothing. Kinda weird but kinda cool.

Unfortunately, there is no known "cure" for this virus. You can expect to 'suffer' for the rest of your life. You can "battle" it all you want, but doing so well only cost you thousands of dollars, and all you'll have to show for it is an increased collection, an increased interest, and an increased longing for more. I pray you "suffer" long, and hard. Enjoy...it's a good "virus" to have.
