Last Treal parts arrived for the Gen 8 Axe, the rear inner portal housings.

Been raining most the day today, so I didn't get to do much building/painting. Mail just got here a bit ago with the last parts for the Axe.

Probably spend the evening tearing into the Axe, redoing the shocks, adding these parts, and getting ready to add the Bowhouse Pan Hard Mount, which is still lost in Detroits Postal System.

Bought some wheels for my Jetta. Keeping it old school. Gonna try to wash and wax this afternoon everything else in the stable.

I've loved those wheels shown on the blue Golf since I first saw them online - really clean design, perfect for VW/Audi performance cars....

I hope they work out. Tire Rack has them for $68/each. Guess they haven’t sold any in a while or maybe dropping that brand.

Bought this at Hobby Lobby just for the hell of it .

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds

and started modding it last night after dinner, going the lead sled route with it, still working out some of what else I want to do with it though. So far the gutters have been shaved (with the door opening cut into it, they got a little lazy there), as well as the ridge from in front of the doors and the fender welting sanded smooth like those are all welded on in one piece, plus I cut off the part the tires attach to and glues the back like it would be if somebody put lowering spindles on a 1/1 car.Need to get some filler involved for the openings that have solid backs and where the handles are all at.

does "slightly bigger" mean 40 more horsepower? lol. The tall windscreen is going away once I get it. This is what it will look like:

I replaced the stock windscreen with a taller one. Then, I added everything to make this none a true sport-touring bike - GPS, hard cases, belly protection, communication, phone holder, FasTrak holder, etc. She no longer looks like she did (in the photo) the day I picked her up.

MST CFX-W w/J45C body, Boom Racing Narrow Steelies / Mud Terrain Trophy tires / Firm closed cell foams, Tamiya PS-7 Orange paint, Loctite Blue "Chapstick" style gel stick.

The kit came AMAZINGLY fast from RCmart with free shipping - ordered Sunday just before midnight on 7/19 - and it was dropped off at my door Wednesday 7/22 just before noon!

Hong Kong to Texas in LESS than 3 days... that's just nuts..."thumbsup"

The rest of the stuff was ordered from USA distributors - RC Crawler Country for all the Boom Racing stuff, somewhere on Amazon for the paint and Loctite.

So, went ahead and paid up for another year here to get my star back and post pics.

Re: Pics of your latest purchase

I'd been waiting for Amain or AsiaTees to get it in stock for a while now, I figured RCmart was going to kill me on shipping charges - but it all depends on what product you order!

I've been meaning to build something that looks like the 4x4 competition trucks they run in Asia - mostly old Toyotas, Suzuki Jimnys, the occasional Daihatsu or Mitsubishi.

They tend to run a very small and narrow tire, and go through jungle, swampland, and old quarries - been watching a couple channels on YouTube, great stuff.

I guess I will find out if the Boom Racing Mud Terrain Trophy tires will look silly on it when I'm done with the build - they are only 3.6"x0.94" or 93x24mm, a truly tiny tire!

I also mounted the unlicensed Nitto Mud Grappler kit tires on my LockedUpRC Trail Readys for a 2nd setup for days when I want to have a slightly more conventional crawl.

Here's hoping I don't take forever to build it!

Don't think you'll be disappointed with the CFX-W, just got done building mine a couple weeks ago. Really enjoying it so far.
