So I've had a sore throat for the past few days. Finally, it got so painful that I went to the doctor on Saturday. Diagnosis: Strep Throat.

I was given the option of a 10 day oral anti-biotic regimen, or a single shot.

If you haven't figured it out, I got the shot. And it ****ing hurts!

And on top of that, I no longer quality for my health insurance, so I had to spend several hours on the phone to get new insurance. Which is going to cost me $300/month. >_<

I'm just grateful that I will be able to afford it, but it's going to be difficult now to afford the rest of my bills...

I went from 23 to 33 with no insurance. I paid out of pocket for what little I needed by way of medical procedures. The only reason I have it now is because my company provides it. Catastrophic coverage is cheap, everything else is cheaper to pay cash than insurance premiums.

Don't worry about paying it all off at once. Send them 25.00 a month and they will be happy, don't miss one though

But just don't ask what that cost me, everything here is so intertwined no one know what the hell is up or down.

Just give the man 60% of what you earn, STFU and be happy.

Wasent so bad when out doctors and hospitals was top tier, but those days are long gone, actually a mud brick hut and a which doctor in the middle of Africa might be safer.

I'd go insuranceless, but... The tax penalty would be more expensive than just paying for insurance. Plus, I've got some ongoing issues that I need to see a doctor about kinda frequently. My PT was free for me, and I seriously needed it, but without insurance, it was like $1200 for the 5 visits I needed.
