Default when looking at Video Cards

I have a older, 2.0 PCI Express PNY NVidia GT 630 card and the fan has started rattling

And I have pulled, out the card and used Dusting spray and cleaned the fan out and it good for awhile then starts again

So that tells me, the fan is going out and needs replaced

I looked on line and found a PNY NVidia GT 730 for reasonable priced replacement

They have a DDR3 version for $99.00 or they have a DDR5 version for $64.99

DDR5 card is 64 bit and the DDR3 card is 128 bit

I have a brand new MSI Geforce GTX 970 with 4GBs of DDR5

And new a Corsair 850 watt power supply, too feed the Monster video card

But the 970 will not fit my mid size tower and the larger power supply doesn't help much either

The GT 730 will work until I find a server tower or large full size case

So which card is the better choice ??

I'm leaning towards the DDDR5 card seems the better deal

What do you think ??

If I read your post right, you currently have a 970 and new PSU.

Just drop $60 on a new case and be done with it. Something like a corsair carbide 200r, or Phanteks Eclipse P400

I would need to figure out the size of the 970 card, cause I looked at the cases from above and in the specs it calls out, the maximum size the video card should be

Plus I would need to buy some quality fans, so I have good ventilation and air flow, to dissipate the heat from the video card and power supply

Going to look online and see what I can find, the new case needs to be wider and longer then the mid size Dell case I got now

I pulled the video card out and removed the screws holding the cover on, the fan and cover are all one piece

Used a brush to remove the dust and dirt from the fan and heat sink, its not rattling anymore and is quiet

So it might be ok, until I can find a new case
