There's a guy in England that has a replica of an SR-71 Blackbird RC. Does the same thing, they fire it up, it taxi's, takes off, does some maneuvers, and lands, and when he did the fly-by, sounds just like the real thing. It's been 2 or 3 years, but you could search RC SR-71 Blackbird on YouTube.

What about control line planes? Have any of you ever done this? My dad and I did it back in the 80's when I was a kid. It was kinda big around here. The field in Reading was often packed. I'm not sure if it is any longer since the scum moved in and ruined Reading. I actually had to practice spinning in circles before the season so I didn't get dizzy as quickly. More than one plane went straight up and straight down at full speed after getting too dizzy to keep my balance.

There is a museum in Seattle that has one- and you can take a two hour tour from nose to tail.

One thing is that it has leftover fuel in the cycle, so there is an ignitor in the tail which sparks it into a controlled explosion to boost it a little more.
